Milonga Tuerta
Instrumentation: solo guitar.
Milonga Tuerta is a solo guitar work inspired by the rhythmic and expressive language of the Argentine milonga. The title—literally "one-eyed" or "crooked milonga"—suggests a dance that limps, sways, and occasionally loses its balance.
Throughout the piece, fragments of familiar melodic contours emerge and dissolve within a texture shaped by resonance, percussive articulations, and shifting accents The work explores the milonga as a flexible musical memory: recognizable at moments, distorted at others.
Milonga Tuerta embraces imperfection as a structural principle. Its irregular phrases and unexpected turns invite the listener into a sound world where tradition is viewed through a slightly altered lens—familiar, yet transformed.
